Why I gave away my company to charity

Two friends were at a party held at the mansion of a billionaire. One said, “Wow! Look at this place! This guy has everything!” The other said, “Yes, but I have something he’ll never have: enough.”

When I decided to sell my company in 2008, I already had enough.

Beautiful and inspiring story by Derek Sivers — former founder of CDbaby . He must be the happiest man on earth.

Almost more of a sculpture than a piece of furniture, the T.SHELF (an abbreviation for Triangle shelf) literally reshapes the way you may think about bookshelves. Designed by J1Studio, these beautiful shelf systems are completely modular, allowing you to create your own bookshelf landscape in any size or shape you may desire. The T.SHELF is easy to setup and pack flat for space saving transportation. The system uses doesn’t use any screws, and relies entirely on cables and zipties to tie its pieces together.

Another installment in the “Simple Things Done Well” series. This is the Nissan Figaro, produced in 1989. I don’t own one, so I can’t speak to the car’s functionality or reliability, but every time I cross this image in my morgue file I stop and admire.

Beautifully designed car. Simplicity at its best. I’d love to have one!
